Nitrous Oxide Course
Do you utilize nitrous oxide in your practice? If you do, were you aware that if you leave your assistant alone with a patient on nitrous, he or she must have a certificate of training to allow the assistant to monitor the patient on nitrous while you are not in the room? This is a State Board requirement.
Also, if your hygienists utilize nitrous, they also need a certificate to administer and adjust the nitrous without a dentist being present.
Western Lake Erie OMS is offering a course to hygienists and assistants to obtain the necessary certificates to administer and monitor patients under nitrous oxide. Six hours total of continuing education credit hours will be awarded to participants (who will complete two credit hours in a home study component that supplements the in-person course).
The course will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. For more information, call Abbey or Lori at 419-474-8611 or email ariley@toledodentalsociety.com. Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis (24 attendees max). The class will be held at 5690 Monroe Street, Sylvania, Ohio. There is a $20 charge for this course. There will be no refund for cancellations.
